Do I need mineral shifting to get black sand?

Postby abisme » Tue Mar 10, 2015 5:48 pm

I was looking at the skills (I'm still new to this game, didn't play haven and earth [i guess thats what this is based on?]) and black sand is obtained by having mineral sifting which gives you a shifting pan.

However I already have a sifting pan in my craftables. Does that mean I can get black sand by using it or is the skill required?

it is not always the case that you are able to use whatever you make (weaponsmithing comes to mind, while each type of weapon has its own skill). For sifting you need Mineral sifting, but for the pan you may need only metalsmithing or something like that.

Specifically for sifting, you should have an action in your adventure menu (similar to digging/fishing/destroying/repairing/...) to do just that.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Aaah ok. I guess I can't do it without the sifting skill then.
