Do wood heaps respawn?

Can they spawn on the map or are they gone forever once you chop them up?

I believe they are gone forever once chopped.

No re-spawn. Enjoy them whilst they last in the vicinity of your homestead. (To be fair, they are just there to kind of jump start noobs being as how cutting trees down take 4 or 5 centuries.)

With luck that is on the todo list -- H&H had the ability to plant trees, IIRC
