The fact that water is a black-hole is kind of weird though considering the permanence of most everything else. Maybe their should actually be some kind of underwater salvage, or stuff 'washes up' on the shore days or weeks later for other people to just find. Would be kinda creepy to find a worm eaten skeleton on the shore with some of it's items and cloths still on it.

The fish drank all the potions and now as a result have more inspiration.

ya know... when the fishes start to learn how to walk on land, ur all doomed... no fishing rod, no bile, nothing will save you...
