Stomp & Radius/Stun + Deaggro distance

Postby DonnEssime » Sun Oct 07, 2012 5:16 pm

My question is twofold:

1) About stomp: what exactly is it's radius, and is there a chance it won't stun? I've just got the Backally pugilism skill and wanted to kill a rabbit, by stomping. I started stomping, but then it attacked me and my attack was interrupted. I tried a couple of times more, with a range around 1-2 tiles, and even when not interrupted my attack didn't harm the rabbit nor stun it.

2) How long do I have to run for the rabbit to deaggro me? I am still at 5/5/5/5 humours, and ran out of YB: I had no option but to run. Even after 2 grid squares, the rabbit was still following & attacking me.

And as an additional topic: the wiki is wrong, in the fact that you DO drop items in your backpack upon death (I was standing too close too water, GF backpack stuff). Could someone edit this on the "Inventory" page?

Radius: Like 2-3 tiles

When you do a stomp, it aggros the animal at the start. The animal will most likely hit you before your stomp finished and consquently cancelling it.

The first time a stomp lands it will stomp, doing a couple stomps in a row will not stun.

It will deaggro you after about 10-20 seconds when the enemy's portrait in the Top-right corner is a "?". This is visual range.

The backpack thing was a bug and was "fixed" not too long ago.

I know about this deaggro, but being chased by a rabbit ment that I could not outrun it (and it followed me over shallow water). I was asking whether there is a limit to how far it will follow you, similar to the ants in HnH. If they just keep on chasing you, there is no way someone can ever get rid of them? (I got a timber rattler to kill the rabbit for me, but it ended up aggro'ing me too giving the same problem).

Use wander/run to get away.

It's like in HnH, if you get far enough away it'll eventually deaggro. You can use run, go across a river, or climb a cliff and stomp it from up there.

It seems neither of you have got the point of my question: I could not get far enough away from the rabbit for it to deaggro, since it runs faster than I do, and I did not have enough humours to cross a river / climb a cliff / stomp it some more

Well I had no problems to get away from rabbits with 5/5/5/5 char. Cliffs can help and you should be able to outrun it if you wander(not walking speed) in straight line without stopping on some trees :P

Absolutly agree with you but the Cliffs are also Risky because if you fail to Climb u get killed and all ur Stuff is stuck on the Cliff
