Need help with the installer!!!

Basically i just installed Salem, and ran it, but it crashed once i tried to create a new char...
i deleted desktop icon and anything that i could find connected to salem to try and reinstall it, but now everytime i try to reinstall it, i never get a new desktop icon, and still cant go past the character creation...
Can someone help me with this?

Try reading this thread:

In short, try using ":gl meshmode d" command after you log into the game, before you click New Character button. The problem is indeed in video drivers, so if the command above helps, you should tinker with them.

As soon as you hit : the console input will pop up for you to write the rest of the suggested command.

That appears to have fixed it gameplay wise, thank you very much, but still couldnt recover desktop icon, any idea about that? (:

Make a new one, or use a .bat file to start the game. Can easily redownload the jnlp and use that to start the game
