Digging!

I was flattening an area today at my base when I began to pick up a lot of clay and grubs. So I was wondering if the Purity of the clay goes together with the purity of the dirt? So if I get a purity 1.00% piece of clay, does that mean the dirt I am digging will also be 1.00% and when I use that dirt in a clay trough it will turn into 1.00% clay? Also is everything that is dug from the ground going to be 1.00% or is it random?

Clay troughs use the purity of the lime water which you add to the clay through. Lime water takes like 90% of the purity from the water and like 10% from the lime. So purity water pretty much means purity clay.
