Do you have an Intel graphics processor? If so, read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8289 It's a short thread and a couple of other related threads are linked with solutions.

Also if you have ATI accelerators, try updating the driver, fixed mine..

first try command line: ":gl meshmode dlist"
To active command line, before u click create character, press shift + ":" and type the command above.
