There are no public maps right now. There are tools in the Arcane & Artifice forum that will take the maps saved when you use one of the modded clients and composite them to make your own personal world map.
As far as guides, you should check out the discussions pinned at the top of this forum. There are several on getting started, base defense, gluttony, and many others.
