Defence question

Postby zanther » Wed Nov 13, 2013 8:33 pm

I just come back to the game from being gone. Before I left I had made some mistakes in defending my claim. I learned a hard lesson but I still have much to learn. I as have been wondering around I have come across many, many abandoned claims in some cases even towns. As I looked about I would see stone walls even as many as 3 to 4 deep destroyed. Many braziers around. Is a claim even able to be defended? If so what works best? what is the right way to do it?

Any advise anyone has would be great.

Defenses most likely are stronger than when you last played. The correct way to do it is to build a plank then stone then split rail fence (make sure the weaker ones are in front of the stronger ones). Then make sure you have no less than 12 braziers that can hit any point of your walls. That will keep out 95% of the population.

Thanks for the help that will come handy on down the line. One other question is if I declaim will I get any silver back? I think I will be needing to move on from my current spot in order to progress.

Nope. You don't get anything back when/if you declaim.
