Trouble placing Cross

Postby Rantul » Wed Nov 13, 2013 5:10 am

After recently placing a bell, decided to plant a couple crosses, however I get "Can't place that there." message and have no idea why. Is there a thread or post on restrictions/limitation of placing a cross? I can't find any info and wiki is no help. And yes, I am trying to place it within authority or on the vclaim. I have placed a couple but didn't like the position and it wouldn't let me place one further south of it like i wanted, currently just have 1 cross which, half of it is double lapping over the bell 101x101 area. Thus not being able to place the 2nd one out further so i can remove the first. If you have any idea what could be preventing placing it, post it please. I'll continue to try to figure out why, but it doesn't make any sense yet.

The ground needs to be flat and dug or paved.

possibly a conflict with another town in the close vicinity? I am unsure exactly what the rules are for two different town claims touching/overlapping.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

The tile needs to "match". Have you tried digging the spot so the tiles look the same?

Quite correct, however, some terrain types (certain forest type, forget which one off top of my head) can't be built on directly. You have to dirty the tile or pave it to build there. It has been a while since I've lived in that type of terrain, but seems like this is the generic message you get. I want to say it is classified as Autumnal Forest (the orange and yellow leafy stuff). This was what DarkNacht was trying to get across.

Alright I do understand your problem I had questions about it myself too.

You can't place any authority objects on the last tile, what he means is this tile:

Don't say its not flat or not paved, It doesn't matter you just can't put any authority objects there.

Soo, you are asking why thats the case, I have no Idea maybe others do.

Thank you for your help guys, yes I had to dirty it, so it didn't like me trying to place it on autumn biome, very strange, however once I changed it to dirt I was able to place the cross and it only cost me 8 cloths and leathers to do it, heh. Just happy I can now place it where i want, if i only had more cloth/leather to...anyways, always tomorrow, right?

Thanks again
