World size

Postby Dalix » Tue Oct 15, 2013 8:50 pm

Hello! I've been looking on wiki for these questions but never found a specific answers (maybe it doesn't exists an nobody knows...)

How big is Salem world? How big is a world map? How long would it take me to walk the map and then hit a wall (or fall down into the abyss)

Cheers!

At once i walked to east and saw end of the map 3 or 4 hours later. I was stucked by an invisible wall. I walked north directly and stucked 4 or 4,5 hours later. West and south are the same as well. The game map is not big that much. But if you go to Northwest and Southwest, you can walk along 6 hours with bile draining.

Probably depends also on whether you're wandering, walking, or running, and how fast you can scale ridges :P High level players can traverse rough terrain much, much faster than lower players, and can run continuously.

It also matters how much you are using rivers/lakes. For a high level character it wont take long to run/canoe to the edge of the map, especially if they bring a few turkeys to eat, for new characters that have to walk and forage it will take a long time.

To be honest, you might actually walk 20-30 hours, you might only have to go 3-4, but it will still only be 4-5 from Boston tops for some players. Depends on which server and which direction you start off in.

I think it took me about 10 hours of wandering around before I finally found a nice place to settle in at with clay, lime, and a variety of foraging areas nearby, but I wasn't too worried about quiet.

By canoe the walls are only about 2-3 hours.
