Salem - 1 year after leavig

Postby korzon125 » Fri Nov 08, 2013 8:31 pm

Can someone tell me what actually is happening with the game? I was playing 1 year ago but I left cuz didnt have enough time and (to be honest) I would to wait for adding some better content. Now, 1 year after my leaving I wanted to go back, but when I checked Server Status I am a bit confused. The problem is that I want to engage some of my friend but if the project called "Salem: The Crafting MMO" gonna fall it's not worth. I also read something about Paradox leaving so can someone tell me what is actually going on here?

I beg you guys, I dont need a fanboy answers, just advisable sentences.

SeaTribe and Paradox split for various reasons and so Salem is solely in the hands of SeaTribe now. The devs feel that there are fundamental flaws in the structuring of the game and have been working on fixing them, periodically giving us tiny changes here and there so that we know they haven't forgotten about us. For the most part the great bulk of the work has gone into reworking/restructuring the Gluttony system.

Only a few things to remember....

1. Pay the tribe if you play on Plymouth.
2. Do whatever Darwoth says on JT
3. Don't piss Judaism off on Roanoke.

Uhh... Ignore this post :P political at best, wildly inaccurate/troll at worst. (doing #2 is the best way to get yourself killed, but again, political)

But yeah, it seems like the community has been slowly but steadily growing lately with new players steadily trickling in. I think Salem is relevant and has a future, I just worry that it might not be able to get there before a slew of really promising looking competitors come out next year. A hot topic which comes up now and then is the possibility of a server merge and what that might look like, if/when that happens things will get extremely interesting for a little while. Now would be a good time to get yourself established if that's something that sounds exciting.

The game is alive and well. There has been a lot of new content in the previous year. Now is a great time to get started.
