My best friends and I were hanging out and talking in the Boston Market today about the future of the game and the state of the forums.
While we were eating pies and loafing around we wondered if the forums we're going to be as bad as they had been under Jorb and Loftar.
We talked about how hard it is for new players to use the forums and how toxic forums scare new players away.
In the end my friends convinced me to put my hat in the ring for one of the new mod spots if the new developers do open up the running for any new positions.
I believe that the new forums need to be less toxic in general. So much hostility, personal attacks and racism scares away new players and really hurts the game as a whole. They need to be used more for information and ideas rather than near constant in-game political attacks.
To the advantage of my detractors I'd promise to never post again unless I was posting in green as a moderator. This would probably be viewed by most of them as me finally shutting the ***** up. I would promise to stay out of any in-game or out of game political discussions.
I think most people here realize that I have mostly tried to help the game grow, help new players to learn the game and to keep the truly toxic players in check. I love this game and would like to help it's forums be better.
I like the idea of Mereni being a mod. I could stand Binks being one although I really don't think he could ever get along with Sabinati or any of the other mods. They would never get along. Dallane has probably been the worst thing to ever happen to the Salem forums. He would make a terrible mod and he would probably be the worst thing that could happen to this new era of the Salem forums. That's the main reason why I think I need to run so that the new owners can see that they have better options than him.
So if Dallane and Binks are going to run then I better run to.
