No longer active as much?

I wanted to ask everyone if you play Salem less because of the glut cool downs and insp regen feature. Since the update, once i take care of the fields and fill all the chests and sheds with glut food for the future and insp I log out, unless i want to randomly remove some annoying cliffs in my area or something else unproductive...The problem is I have lost many of my old world kin who don't get on as much or have quit because they got bored. I get the same way once everything done around town. Even now my mayor whom I've known for over a year left the game :(. I feel I am very limited now with only mundane tasks available to do because i no longer have the choice to develop my character or alts. Since my last post was locked and I was warned I thought I would try a nicer approach to finding out from other players if they are in the same boat as I am and getting bored even with the new cool stuff we can do.

I don't play less and I lack of time to level alts.

There's always something to do in this game. And often, this 'something' involves helping total strangers, which isn't bad at all.

However, maybe we don't seek the same things. :|

If you just play an hour or two a day the current systems works great. Once you enter into binge playing and your on for 3 or more hours, it kinda sucks.

Inspiration doesn't bother me much. The gluttony cooldowns are kind of annoying. Lack of things to aim for the biggest factor for me though.

Sure I can do chores, make dry boards, coal, farms etc. However, I have plenty of food, I have all the basic infrastructure I need and little to aim for. Purity is so incredibly slow and fairly unrewarding to level right now that it's not really the next step anymore, imo. I'm not really a pvp player so I really don't need purity to achieve those top humours and 0% food can probably get me to 100's just fine. Not to mention, I'll probably be long bored of this game by the time purity reaches any level worth getting.

Expanding and/or making a pretty town is something I could do, sure. It is sandbox afterall, there is little point gameplay wise though. All it does is attract unwanted attention (Pavement on map.), adds nothing to my ability to process materials or advance and just means a bigger daily burden in upkeep for claim(s).

I do enjoy exploring though, I have a comprehensive map of a pretty large area made and finding rare terrain features is still fun. When I reach the point where I find myself no longer logging on daily I'll probably donate it to the worldmap.

I log in less and less lately, but it has little to do with Gluttony or Inspiration. Yes, the new systems for Gluttony and Inspiration did slow me down leveling my character and learning skills, but in the end that only really gave me more time to hunt, forage, look for a good base site, start building that base, and do all the chores required when running a settlement.

The problem is, now that my farmer has more than 50 humors (I won't say how much more), it doesn't really Need more. More Gluttony now is fairly pointless. Now that I have all the skills, there are no skills left to get, so that aspect of the game is gone. You might say, "Make another character", but I did. I've reached what I consider the end of the development of two farmer characters and it doesn't seem fun to make yet another backup right now.

There are still chores to do around the base, but how much iron do you need when you can only build a few braziers? Board piles mature SOOOOO slowly and require so much space, all the things I need to do with Dry Boards etc are throttled back to accommodate how many piles I can safely fit on my claim while I wait and wait for my material. And hunting and foraging and even farming are only good for a few hours of play time a week, at least for me.

I would have more to do if I made a raiding character, sure. Need higher humors, meaning a need for more hunting, foraging, and a Lot more intense farming, but why? Raiding sucks right now.

So, I'd say the throttled character development didn't actually decrease my play time at all as I always found other things to do while waiting for those timers to wear off, it's the lack of content and things to do once the character has reached a certain point that has slowed me down. We need more inspirationals to hoard, animals to raise, orchard trees, more animals to hunt, some decorative items to craft (hanging stuff on walls and wallpaper is a fair start) to make our houses less empty, honeybees, working alchemy with a more significant purity grind that Can slowly increase purity over time. As it is, I've about reached the point where I'm going finish building my base, look around and say "Well... I'm done, guess I won Salem", and pretty much stop logging in. :(

TL;DR I'm less active now, not because of throttled character development, but because now that my main character and it's backup are fairly developed, and the base almost complete to my satisfaction (which happens too fast), there's little left to do.

I stoped playing when i hit 1 80+ 2 80, 1 in the 60s and various 30-40s. Game just got boring. Nothing to do but wait on sea island and try to craft gear.

this is what happened to me in Jamestown... in Providence I got some stuff developed and stopped once I hit some grind walls... there's no easy solution for a permadeath game where you can lose everything, it'll take time

Extremely bored of the game. Going back to waiting for haven 2 mostly while casually grinding my stats in this.

Word to word. I do try to build slowly and eat slowly and search slowly, may be i'll last a month or two more. But thats all... :(
