Salem is casual game-play

Ok for those who like to balance the game from active to casual players...Someone who plays 10 hours a day to someone who plays 2 hours a day should have 5x more stuff. That is balanced, not making a game so playing more than a couple hours or minutes completely worthless.

I know i don't play as much per day as I use to , maybe a couple hours cause of the limits. So Salem is now a casual play game, simple as that. Play for a couple hours then log off a couple days you won't miss anything until your points hit their max for regen and you miss out of raising some skills or levels. Eventually, more options on what to do open it after a month or so. But um playing hardcore non-stop over a weekend won't help you advance your character much anymore.

Salem is now a new, slow...very slow....casual game now. So playing for more than a few minutes compared to a few hours won't really help you that much. Now logging in every few hours to raise bliles then logging off for the 3 or 4 hour cool-down is just as good as staying online the whole time. Not the "balance" i was looking for...

Best thing if your starting out is to raise your biles and use all your points, should take about 10 minutes, then log off for a day or two and come back to use your insp points again, oh and primarily raise your black to 20 at least at first, helps a little with the regen, not much but a little. Then when you can actually make something worth making, then play. Use that 200k insp points up then go away for a couple days, its not like you want to kill deer if all you get is one shred cause you lack the skills to get more than that kinda thing, you'll be just wasting time. Wait till you have skills to make it worth it, Don't bother building up a pc worth raiding if you can not make anything to defend it with. Just wait for your points till you can. The best thing you can do as a new player is to do nothing and not play the game.

That is why i don't like Salem as much anymore.

That's my strategy. It seems pretty clear to me that I've won the game now!

I think the point of the OP is that Salem is not a better game this world, it is just different. In some ways it feels like Jorbtar are going in circles rather than "Upward and Onward!" I no longer give a ***** what they do.

We told you the wipe was not necessary nor was it going to improve the overall feel of the game. We simply traded one broken system for the opportunity to play another.

I remember when people were complaining when studying was too slow when they only had 5 black bile… This rant feels like that old one's natural successor :p

The person who plays 5x as much will have 5x more stuff - they just wont have a character sqrt(5)x as good. Although they might eventually, if they cooperate with enough other people. Which is arguably a good thing. Considering the game is supposed to be able to have some sort of meaningful politics, having literal supermen running around was possibly a bit counter-productive.

Anyway, bye

It's a bit early to be calling it a broken system.

merging servers is already a good reason to wipe, but you still have to change things and get rid of legacy stuff... wipes are never out of question, it's most of the pilgrim's fate to get wiped anyways... the new limits give a chance for people with a life to catch up if they put in some hours a day... nolifes still have advantage tho, once the tasks pile up limits are not so relevant anymore... it's just at the very beggining that limits matter

I think that's what I hate the most about this update... I used to really enjoy the early game, and would sometimes make new characters just because it was fun. Now, the early game ***** sucks.
