Anything going to be done about stalls?

Postby ProffesorMoriarty » Sun Feb 09, 2014 7:37 am

Or is it still going to be pay to win upon new world launch and who buys the most up gets the silvers :?
Because if so, then yes the same factions are going to win again. The people willing to spend hundreds of dollars to buy up stalls like was done in the last world: darwoth, the tribe, cg and so on.
Remember, they get refunds.
fix stalls now.
A professor is obviously spelled with two F's, trust me, I'm a professor.

Stalls are working as intended but thanks for the concern.

Pay to win? The stalls have always been 100% ****. Using the trade thread has always been the best way to make money.

The Trade Thread, Agropelter hunting, Beaver hunting, Cricket Hunting and Cotton Farming are all as good as making money off a stall. Unless you have tons of Iron, boards or specialty items there's no pay to win with stalls.

If stalls are allowed to exist again, they won't be pay to win due to the refunds. It will instead be "who can stay awake the longest and click the fastest"-to-get-massive-advantage, since the second stalls become available whoever is online will instantly buy them.

Since many of you don't remember early Plymouth: it is a massive advantage compared to regular trading in a world where there is an actual population.

Furthermore the location of the stall actually matters, which is why Glenn's stall was the most profitable stall until plymouth got a 2nd stall area. Reason being: a lot of people are too lazy to look at more than 1 stall: they just look for the first stall that has iron or garlic goods.

Edit: I do understand that stalls are perhaps redundant in dead servers, but do not let your knowledge of the dead make you think you know something about the living.

I think stalls are largely fine as they are, but something must be done about inactive stalls.

e.g. in Roanoke, the second stall in the square (the one I don't own :) ) has been inactive for months (going on almost half a year now). But is still unavailable due to rent in the till.
To give you some idea: if I were to quit completely tomorrow (notwithstanding the incoming wipe), my own stall would have enough rent in it to last well over a year.

I propose some kind of inactivity measure on stalls, after which the silver in till is sent to the bank and the stall is made available for purchase. Then again, 'sploit, 'sploit etc. This has been suggested plenty of times, i guess.

this. There is a very large portion of the population that doesn't play the forum game.

This very big and often. You won't believe the prices i can get for some stuff simply because my stall is the only one accessible from roa square.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
