Was 'Survivor 2299' the greatest Gaming Troll ever?

Well it's come and gone and seen by millions. The supposed release info or possible Fallout 4 tease site turned out to be a devoted fan of the Fallout series attempting to get Bethesda to admit that it was actually developing a new Fallout game for next year. The site included a countdown, Java script specifically hinting at Fallout code, 3 updated puzzles and a changing Morse code mystery. It was registered under an old gaming name that Bethesda's partner company Zenimax had used back in it's early days, and because of the massive traffic the site probably cost the guy thousands of dollars to maintain.
After it went viral, the site was reviewed by hundreds of game players on Twitch, Youtube and almost every major Gaming Site. The Wikipedia page on it has been taken down due to massive edit trolling and arguments.
Here's the site now: http://thesurvivor2299.com/

This site and fan, who is apparently trying to remain anonymous due to death threats is now being considered the greatest 'Game Troll' of all time.
