I came from H&H and I finally descided to check out Salem for myself.

Salem's population is quite low at the moment and HH World 7 starts after the weekend, which will take away even more players from Salem.

If you're looking to try it out, roll on Jamestown. Most peaceful server, so it'd be the best one to learn on imo

I can assure you Roanoke is far more peaceful.
If your goal is to 'take over' a server then yes Jamestown should be your pick.
Roanoke is so safe these days I'll roam around the world map for days without finding a scent.

I can warmly recommend Roanoke.
It's only on Roanoke that you will find peace, faith and zombie parades.

Actually, so long as you keep on the Tribe's good side Plymouth proves to be a very peaceful place to call home.

Plymouth is not the best pick, it has a very small population and a group that controls the server and will destroy your base if you don't pay them. They are also sworn enemies of several very good HnH players that you may know. Jamestown is safe but still not the safest. It doesn't have any big groups on it except a mega-hermit who will sometimes cull the population. His name is Darwoth. Roanoke is by far the safest server to play on. The largest group is the super-awesome rangers
, "The Candy Gang" and they've managed to either destroy or tame almost all of the large and medium sized raiding groups on the server without asking for compensation from the population. There are still some very large towns that could probably hold them off for a bit, and several up and coming towns to make just enough inter-town drama to make the server interesting. The last truly large Russian town is also on Roanoke. It's called the City of Dreams and has been in Hibernation for the last 2 months but may awake at any moment. Roanoke is also the server that all the major groups have alts on.
WE DEFINITELY HAVE MORE FUN ON ROANOKE
