Tomorrow the ex Prime Minister of Great Britain, Margaret Thatcher is being given what amounts to a state funeral.
Do you think that this is right?

Okay, my personal opinion.
There has never been a more divisive prime minister than Margaret Thatcher, she turned the country against each other, and there is a reason that the number 2 song in the country atm is 'ding **** the witch is dead'
People died for her policies, and I'm not talking about the falklands war. She nearly started a civil war here, destroyed our manufacturing base and sold off all our assets. There is a reason there will be a huge police presence at the funeral. She made the rich richer and put millions of normal people out of work.
I personally would love to find where she is being buried, so I can go spit on it... as many many other british people will be doing.

She was still the leader of your country though? I'm not going to pretend like I know a whole lot about Margaret Thatcher or British politics in general, but even Obama would deserve a proper burial when he dies, and look at what he is doing to my country :/

I hear what you are saying, but the fact is that we as a people do not do 'state funerals' for our leaders.
Yes they have large funerals attended by dignitaries, but not under the auspices of the "nation'
She has been singled out as some sort of 'different' prime minister, and this is the problem, she actually caused brother to turn against brother, town against town, to an extent that she is still reviled by a majority in this country. Yes the situation here with unions etc needed addressing, but she took it too far, she set out to destroy the unions, and she succeeded. She closed down the mining communities, and now we import south american coal.. just because they had a strong union. She waged war against her own people. And tomorrow she is being honoured...?

I'm really sorry to break the bubble, Margaret Tatcher fans.
But she was a real one of a *****.
Sure there was some positive things whilst she was a priminister but Jesus christ, look at the negatives, they are far more than the positives.
She made the rich richer and spent money on useless crap in my opinion. She should have known better.

The point is, there are always people who will agree and disagree with the leader of their country and what they are doing. I absolutely hate Mr. Obama, and what his policies are doing to my family and country, but that doesn't mean that I cant show him respect as the leader of the greatest nation on the planet.

I assume that you have heard of a certain Winston Churchill? Played a small part in the second world war? Obviously much less influencial than the 'Iron Lady' so that probably explains why he didnt have a military guard of honour, etc etc which she will be honoured with? I personally feel that the guard of honour is there so that people wont grab the coffin, open it and check she really is dead.
The point I am making here is that she is being made a special case, and Jehesus, why pick HER? She was in power over 20 years ago and people still loathe her. This is a woman who sent armed police against unarmed protesters and forever created a barrier between North and South and West and East, basically anyone who isnt in London lost out big time by her policies... and yet she is the only prime minister being given this honour. Yeah she has to be buried, but dont make it a bloody state funeral.
