Random Gift Codes

Postby Andrew78910 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:54 am

I think that it would be really cool if there were random gift code give aways. At random time on twitter, Facebook, the forums, youtube, etc there would be a random gift code given away for a free item or something to help a person in the game. Each code would be limited to the amount of uses so only a certain amount of people could use the codes. These codes would be redeemed in the salem store. Does anyone agree? I think that would be pretty cool.

Alright well it doesn't have to be right now maybe when the game gets more stuff later on it would be good.

I agree with Dallane. I don't think rewarding people that have twitter or FB is a good idea. I think if we were to get this kind of thing it should be in game or forums.

Yeah that's probably a better place to do it.

Don't mind twitter, but **** facebook and that executive team that runs it. How the hell do they have so many members? Are people really that gullible? (Obviously....) Thank God enough people know how to make a fuss of some of their more questionable decisions.

We would need to implement some kind of gift code system then, which would not be very high on the priority list.

On the other hand it's very possible to run competitions on Facebook, twitter and forums where we reward the winners manually :)
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.

Something like this could be abused by large factions with a common communication platform such as vent, skype, IRC...

lets say for arguments sake, we have a silver reward of 100 per code... and say it has 20 uses. A faction could rack up 2000 silver and gain quite a large advantage for very little work.

On an economic POV you if this number is higher say 100 uses per code, 100 silver across 100 active hermits or small groups, and it could possibly have a negative impact on the economy making it much harder for the none socialmedia users.

Although as totallymoo said, manual rewards in small numbers could be the way forward on this... you can control the impact of too many free things
