New Chat UI.

Postby L33LEE » Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:38 pm

when is it coming ?

The current chat system is the most worse UI i have ever witnessed in any game.

It needs a whole revamp, im sure everyone will agree, this is not an I&I, it is merely a request for information.

Yep, however that was many months ago..

This is kind of an request for an update on this situation.

IMO, Simple features like a totally crap chat window, will detur new players than lack of content. New players will see things like the chat window, Laugh their faces off, then quit, so to these people "content" everyone demands means little in the development of the player base.

It's probably been imagined as being revamped at some point but doesn't fit high enough on the list of priorities to receive any kind of definitive scheduling. I agree that it blows, but it's beta and it -is- functional, albeit ******, unlike other aspects of the game that still need attention in order to complete its intended features and functionality.

I think a more appropriate way of demanding a timeline, which even if you did get the devs wouldn't have to stick to anyway, would be to make suggestions on features you think the chat system should have implemented. That way, when they do get around to overhauling it, maybe some good ideas would be added to the mix and the final outcome would be better as opposed to flaming about it after it's released.

The problem is, the overhaul needs to happen "NOW". Such a ****** UI instantly detours new players from even wanting to play the game.

Everyone stress's "Balance and content first", when in fact they should be developing and improving the visuals of the UI and the interface to the game WAY BEFORE CONTENT. When you have a perfect working Interface + UI, content comes with time.

All it seems is the HnH players give little ***** to how the game looks, and just want as much content as HnH has, this is nice to these players, but such attitudes will never improve the game visually, and will ensure the player base never grows, and sadly the Devs cater to the HnH players.

Players who leave the game due to the shortcomings of the UI in its beta stage likely won't stay long anyways. Even in it's "closed" stage, the game isn't ready for a complete overhaul. If the open beta is still scheduled for release in this quarter, I'd much rather see more features implemented that can be tested and refined prior to a new chat system.

Features in this game effect and are effected by the purchase/use/trade of silver, and as such deserve more attention than the UI, assuming the UI works well enough to allow the game to be played. The devs would get more **** for developing the UI instead of features and the refinement thereof than if they perfected a UI for an unfinished game - and not just by the HnH community, but by the MMO community at large.

This game is already in Open commercial beta.

To think otherwise is ignorant, regardless of what they say the current stage of the game is in.

We can call it whatever we want to. Calling it open only furthers my point that features effected by the commercial exchange of the game are more important than the UI and an update with the chat system.
