I've been reading some of these threads on other forums lately and some of the ideas are just so cool I want to see if anyone in the Salem community has any smart ideas that they'd like to share. It can be anything, cooking tips that only you know, how to do a normal task differently, etc.
Here are some cool examples that I've found
Spoilered due to length

A lot of these were good, but killing a scorpion with a lint roller? That's a Nobel Prize for sure.

The dish soap to kill fleas thing doesn't actually work. I have tried it. People think it works but in reality, the fleas that die are drowning in the water you're bathing the pet in. They would have died either way. If your pet actually has fleas, get a real flea shampoo and then bite the bullet and get the good flea drops (Frontline, Advantage, etc.) to put on them. With flea products to put on your pet, if it's cheap it doesn't work.
That being said, if you have fleas in the carpet that's the complete opposite. You do not need to spend more than a few bucks to solve that problem. All of the expensive carpet powders, sprays, bug bombs, etc. are just a waste of money. Most of the time they don't even work. All you really need is a box of Borax, plain old simple Borax. Sprinkle it all over the carpet and let it sit for at least several hours, preferably overnight. Vacuum it up and get rid of the vacuum contents right away. You will notice a decrease in the amount of fleas after the first treatment. Do this every day for a week and the fleas will be completely gone. To prevent future fleas, sprinkle Borax on the carpets, let sit for an hour, and vacuum once a week. The reason this works is that the Borax literally dehydrates the fleas to death, makes the eggs detach from the carpet, and dehydrates them in the process. This method will save you a ton of money and frustration, plus it's safe for your pet to be around.
