Is anyone playing this game?
It's pretty much singleplayer 2D salem set 4000 years after salem on a different planet.

Oh and it also has a permadeath mode. I mean how can a salem player not like this game?

lol I played it a long time ago when it was still beta. It's a fun little game but no where near as good ad DF.

At this point there isnt anything that can match up with Dwarf Fortress. RimWorld is for people who need graphics over mechanics.

That being said, i think RimWorld has potential, the engine was originally made for a squad based combat game, so its pretty fleshed out in that regard. Id give it a couple more years before its on par and worth $30.

Massively overpriced just like another game it resembles; prison architect. It is amazing how it looks and plays just like prison architect. It even offers the same DLC options, except that they appear to be free instead of being a large boost to the price. The two games aren't even made/published by the same company, and yet they are so much alike.

Definitely not as good as DF, but at least it isn't Towns or Gnomoria.

I picked it up quite a while ago and the setting makes for some good fun. I usually have a quick playthrough of it every time there is a big update and Alpha12 and Alpha13 were huge improvements, I haven't gotten around to playing Alpha14 yet. And its still in what they are calling alpha so hopefully they will keep building on it for quite some time.

Similar simple graphics and spreadsheets but its definitely trying to be a user friendly DF.
