An interesting insider view on the Lionhead saga. For anyone curious, that bit about how Peter Molyneux walks into the office to give the only direction of the game as saying there's a boy and a dog and the dog must die and leaves for months? For some reason that was familiar of another studio. I just can't put my finger on it.

Does this mean there will never be Black and White 3?

That's an outrageously long read! :D

I really liked the first black & white for trying something really new, but after that...

I remember hearing about this maybe a month ago. I remember being vaguely baffled by it, but then I forgot.

I also loved black and white 2. I liked the bit where you could throw rocks and fireballs around and they would bounce around the environment breaking things. Throwing rocks at the enemy giant animal and watching it eat **** as a result. Frying samurai with lightning. I bought a mouse for my laptop just so I could play that game. It plays terribly on a mouse pad.

I recall being a wee lad when Black and White came out. I would dutifully clip the ads from magazines and pin them up on the fridge as a reminder to my parents that this was something they should buy for me. A good half of one side of the fridge was full before they got the hint. My dad came home with it one day and I was ecstatic but my mom wouldn't let me play it. The sandbox genre was a new thing, as was the idea of a god sim. That was what really sold Black and White, being one of the first of its kind. Unfortunately for young me, this concept happened to be blasphemous. It appeared that the option of not only being god but being capable of being evil if I so chose offended my mother's delicate Catholic sensibilities. It was years later until I finally got to play Black and White 2.
