when is raiding going to be "improved"?

Its been 2 months since the nerf a few patches have came out since then with nothing trying to "improve"balance the mechanic. This game was advertised as a hard core pvp game which at this point, it clearly isnt. i was going to put $50 towards the game like my other 4 mates. but after finding out about the nerf im holding it back until it gets balanced and im questioning if it ever will.
atleast put the use of tea in raiding back in.

Future Notes:
We have 3 more new Brazier types added. As well as a handful of new raiding skills, lockpicking skills, stealth skills, and other content we have been working on. We felt it the far safer approach to buff the defenses and penalties prior to implementing the new toys for raiders. Expect raiders to gain a new toolbox of abilities in the weeks to come and I highly suggest those on Providence prepare.... Cold Snap is coming...

also popham was a bust it was a ok theory but once again it wasnt balanced. the ark was a joke forcing people to put thousands of hours into building an ark while a single witch has to go to statues(i wont go further into this because i dont know exactly what the witch has to do to get to tier 3 but it cant take thousands of hours).
now that i think of it the overall issue is the devs dont know how to balance their own game.

I believe those future notes were from a good amount of time prior to the linked quote above, so they may have changed their minds. Since those notes there has been almost nothing about any upcoming raiding changes, you'd think they would have made an incremental adjustment by now if they were working on it.

As for the ark, as I said before, I think it could have worked if there was -some- way to prove to other players you had contributed X materials (some token you get with your name branded onto it like when you craft clothing, contribution log, etc) as then players who didn't want to build boards endlessly could instead reward players who did, either on Popham or Providence. But there was realistically no way to do that aside from a 3rd party literally standing there waiting for an hour or more as some rando ported boards endlessly... For that amount of time they might as well be making boards too so it's moot. I don't think some sort of system like that would have made it any less sandboxy since it's still not rewarding the player at all, just making it possible to prove. Without that, it was impossible for the mechanic to develop into anything so it just died.

I believe they are thinking of leaving providence pretty much as it is with some changes to TBF.

And working mostly on the expedition. Perhaps all the PvP guys might want to actually play the next expedition :D

well if thats true its ok some games arnt meant for some people. i personally dont want to play on a server that is going to wipe every 6 months i started from scratch once dont really feel like doing it again. wurm online tried something similar and it failed miserably creating a new server fixes nothing it just adds more problems into the mix. but its not my game and JC can do whatever he wants to do.

imo tea needs to be allowed while crime debuff is active i mean it is why tea was originally created spending 4 hours on a brick wall is more then long enough since they can be spammed i have 3 plank rows and am building a brick row and will have a iron wall up within a week and i have the supplies for 3 rows of brick so within the next week or 2 ill have 3 rows of brick a row of iron and 3 rows of planks all by myself. also with braziers spammed every spot they will fit with the baby braziers filling in whatever space i wasnt able to build a brazier.

The server gets wiped, but you (potentially) keep your characters. Even starting from scratch it ends up being less work to make a titan if you play your cards right, so it's an easy sell to spend the time to play on there.

So far it seems like JC WANTs players to start from scratch on expeditions since, unless something has changed, you can't inherit on Popham but you can inherit from Popham on to Providence. Personally I see this as a good thing. Its just my opinion but I feel people are more inclined to give new starts a go if they think they are on level pegging with the others (who might have rolled them over previously). That of course is never the case due to skill, knowledge of game mechanics and the way people are able to work together, but hope can drive a person quite far.

Huh, guess it does have changes pending despite no recent incremental adjustments: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17313#p251887
