Hey Salem Community,

Has there been any mention of when the devs plan on adding more beta participants, or opening it up? I know I'm not alone when stating that we'd love to get some of our fellow beta-testing friends into the game.

Also, any timeframe on new updates? I know that a lot of mentions are put into IRC chat from the devs, so I'm asking the forum lurkers to share any info they have

loftar is working on getting multiple server support in. After that the plan is to open the beta.

Will that wipe this current world, or will you leave it and open the new ones?

If you had been keeping up to date you would know that the recent wipe was intended to be the last wipe (assuming all goes well) and that when open beta begins they will simply add new worlds rather than wipe the current one.

I sense a very snide attitude behind that post. I didn't even play prior to this wipe, except for in Alpha and VERY little after that, so no **** I'm not keeping up with things.

Was not meant to be snide, just an encouragement to keep on top of official announcements as they contain info straight from the devs.

For example, in the official post regarding the recent wipe (post found here) says very plainly:

If all goes according to plan this reset should be the last full reset we do on Salem. The present Beta phase is referred to internally by us as "closed commercial beta", and we aim to gradually transition it to "open beta", as soon as we have support for multiple servers -- our present work in progress -- required so as to be able accomodate the expected influx of users that that should bring.

As for more beta invites...

When the shop is more stable and we're sure it's not going to cause any problems, there are going to be more invites heading out for people. Stay tuned on how to get them (it will be announced through several media outlets).
