Salem

I havnt had this much fun playing a pc game since i was a kid... or atleast since A Tale in the Desert lol (which Salem exceeds by far).

Only thing im worried about is grievers, trolls, senseless noob killings... which ive heard alot about but experienced pretty much the opposite so far.


I also played in beta years ago but stopped due to frustration. Now all i need is a community/village so im not all alone on this gigantic map.

...and maybe some ideas for guide vids i can put on my youtube channel without intervering with GamerZakh who produces great Salem content already.

If you are playing on providence server then most of the killers and griefers are on potham right now.

IKR it was my reaction when I played Salem again. Man this game rocks.

If that is not your thing do be sure you are playing on Providence. Other than that, glad to hear you are enjoying Salem.

Yes, im on Providence thankfully hehe.

I didnt mean it wasnt my thing, the game would be alot less attractiv without that aspect imo. Im worried cause i havnt learned enough to keep me and my goods safe atm but that will change. At the latest when i learn the hard way

Concerning grievers, etc.. though, i do hate them and would never become one. The days of portal ganking and the likes are over for me hehe

Most pvpers are on Popham atm so if you're fast enough you may get a decent base up before most get bored, or the server ends.

This should probably go in the help section but this thread is already heading in that direction anyways so ill just ask.

How bad is it that i built my base (so far: nomad house, 2 fields, 2 compost, fenced and claimed) right where the guide droped me?
Should i just find a new spot immediatley? Losing silver spent on claim and some nails.

Ive read the thives guide to protecting your home and various posts and wiki entries.

Well depends. are you really set on building there? lots of defenses? If its not a huge loss at the moment. Start gearing up for leaving and making a new base somewhere nicer.

Im not attached to the spot hehe and can always spend another night killing crickets for more silver lol.

Objects like the composts cant be moved right? I could probably transfer the other stuff easily if i establish the new camp with an alt first so i can port back and forth to town from both camps?

The alt way is probably the easiest. Composts that are not empty cant be moved. Id advice against carting your things with you as it will limit your movement, map will be difficult due to terrain and other similar things.
