Hey all,

Here are some songs made just for Salem.
I'm interested in your feedback and I'm sure JC is too.
Please bear in mind due to Java and sound quality constraints it seems you need to fit them between 30-45 seconds.

For the town songs I tried to make them reminiscent of how songs of that period would have been.

Darkness I want to be terrifying - A pilgrim shouldn't dare tread there alone - things lurk there, dark things...

Town Music

1. Town Music 4 - My first and my favorite.

I think they sound great! (Is that a witch's laugh in the second darkness track? I'd love to hear more subtle sound effects like that.) It's really too bad about the 45 second thing. Any way to get around that?

EDIT: I think the 4th darkness track is my favorite of all of them. Any chance you could post the full original version for our listening pleasure? (It says "shortened.)

Its not a length constraint, it is a size constraint.

I see. Out of curiosity, are you planning to have general sound effects like birds and creaking branches going all the time while walking in the wilderness, then have a brief 45 second music track play once every few minutes? Just wondering what your vision is for fitting this together.

Our preferred method at the moment would be 3-8 songs that are on a jukebox if you will all between 1.5 to 3 minutes each.

I love most of these songs, I had no problems running several audio tracks of 3 minutes+. Smaller files do make more sense though, I would focus audio quality above lenght aswell.

Asuming these are all your intellectual property it isn't terrible.

Not trying to swipe at you but lawsuits are expensive.
For the #7 "PVP engaged" you could cut it to a 15 second loop and it would be really awesome. John could make a second sound that started when combat started for the heartbeat. I was thinking it could get progressively louder as your blood went low. You could have a heavy breathing sound for phlegm, a ringing sound for black bile. Not sure about Yellow bile.

Edit: this post was all ***** up.. like me : )
