Dura Lex

Recently, I found out ban notifications. I've read the EULA... there are some mutually exclusive paragraphs, which can trigger some hard bans, so I need some clarifications about it

First - client modding. If I'm modifying client right now... am I outlaw?
Code: Select all
D. By accepting the terms of this EULA, you further agree that you will not, under any circumstances:
use, develop or sell ... mods or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the Software Product;

Second. About password sharing. 3 Situations:
*Imagine, me and my bros know each other for 10+ years. We're playing together and, because we're bros, we always share our creditnails and use our accounts for our purpose. Are we outlaw?
*Special account, registred on special email, created special for village. It can be a trader, or a keymaster, or a stall owner, or a plot holder, or a "remote" miner, anyone. Some villagers has access to it. Are they outlaw?
* I have 3 accounts, registred on 3 different emails, but all emails are mine. I run all 3 accounts at a time. Am I outlaw?

I can't understand, how does ban for password sharing actually works? Do you need an account holder to complain, or you're watching for logs/something?

yes, do not do it.

Yes. Although I highly doubt you are going to report yourself.

So, you need a report before you ban? I've asked a question about it, but for some reason you've ignored it.

What if someone third reports me for my multiaccounts?

Also, about client modding. It's still not too clear for me. That's the first question in my topic.

Yes I'm only investigating when its reported and only if its reported by a player affected.

No we do not endorse client modding. As you can tell, we also do not actively enforce against it either.

Far less than half of Salem is abusing the system by running multiple accounts registered to multiple E-mails. Warnings have been issued on multiple occasions. "everybody doing it" is not an excuse to do something stupid.

If I understood correctly he says that using several accounts PERSONALLY is okay, but sharing them with others MAY result into bans from misuse of any sort VIA a person reporting it.

You never ran two clients concurrently while playing? Seriously? I find that extremely hard to believe - and that you are now saying we are at risk if we do.

You allow sock puppets on the forums now - that's obviously a second account for the same person....

Ron I think you're missing the point here.

You may use two accounts. You may not use two accounts that are not registered to the same owner (you).
