As I pointed out in my post. Military spending is included in almost every one of those piece of the pie chart. It's included in both mandatory and discretionary spending because of the payment of social security, medicare and retirement benefits to the 55.5% of federal employees who fall under the category of 'military spending'. The VA falls under healthcare spending. Non-military government Contractors which including shipping, feeding and housing all of our federal employees around the world falls under non-military (or non-DoD) discretionary spending.

This is simply not true. The costs for healthcare/security and even family housing are calculated as part of military budget. Do you even read what you link?

This IS true. The 16% number you see is just direct military expenditures of the DoD and Pentagon. Here are some articles proving my point that U.S. 'military spending' is everywhere.

Cleaty why in the world do you DERAIL EVERY THREAD YOU POST IN?. This thread has NOTHING to do with government/military spending and 100% to do with as the title suggest "Poverty in America". This will soon be the THIRD thread that more than likely will need to be split off because you want to hide behind a different topic after getting roundly destroyed by everyone.

Hmm.... it's a fine line since taxes and the government's budgeting and handling of the tax revenue and money it spends in deficit have a direct impact on both the economy and pocketbooks of all the tax brackets. I'm going to call it good, even if it is, strictly speaking, a little off-topic.

I read what Claeyt had to say about military spending being higher than we think and it made absolutely no sense. I thought maybe it was the no-sleep factor, but I did finally manage to catch a few hours this morning and it still makes no sense. I don't see how payroll taxes deducted from people serving in the military have anything to do with military spending or where the money he mentioned isn't being counted toward the total %. If anything, he seems to be counting a lot of money he shouldn't and counting some twice to make the % look larger than it is. So, I'm looking at the budget itself to try to find the truth and wow. It's easy to see why there's so much confusion and successful propaganda. I'm going to give this a shot though.

It will be interesting to see what the actual numbers are without the copy paste assistance from a liberal wiki.

I just wanna say that I resent insinuating that people of humble means will turn in to cop hating, government leeching, criminals.
I spent MANY years working in a grocery store (where I put MYSELF through an associates degree so I could make MORE money to support my mother and sister while I CONTINUED MY EDUCATION TO BECOME A DOCTOR (something I am still working towards to this day)) and there are PLENTY of people who DEFINITELY DO abuse the system. ***** PLENTY OF PIECES OF **** THAT FILL A CART WITH ***** CANDY WHILE THEY TELL THEIR 3 YEAR OLD (that they shouldn't ***** have in the first ***** place because they are both ***** drug addicts) THAT NO, THEY CANNOT HAVE A ***** APPLE (that I end up buying the kid myself because I HOPE TO ***** GOD THIS KID GROWS UP TO APPRECIATE NUTRITION)
There are PLENTY of people like that.
But there are also PLENTY (if not the majority) that really do need the assistance because they themselves are pieces of **** but they don't want their children to end up pieces of **** like them. People that do come in and get food and don't try and convince me to sell them cigarettes on food-stamps. People that might get a bottle of wine every now and then but they spend their own money that they did earn to buy it. Homeless dudes that walk the town all day yelling at cars (because they are legit ***** crazy, but in a harmless way) but then help the old lady in the alley throw her trash in the dumpster (that they then dive to salvage any packaged foods they can)
I can tell a piece of **** from someone who is not a mile away, I just wish the government had as easy of a time.

It is the white people that receive it that try and get you to sell them stuff that isn't approved :) If I have learned anything it is that poor white people are FAR more disgusting and manipulative than anyone of a minority. +the number one shop lifters are middle-class children between 9-14.

bscly what I am saying is that I will always pay in to social programs and will always vote towards others being forced to pay in to them as well, because even if there are people who are disgusting benefiting from it, there are loads of children out there who really have no control over their situations. (and I get that you literally would hunt to feed yourself Darwoth, but you are an exceptional individual. I hope that you take this compliment as well as I did when I would spam the same rhetoric you do: Not everyone can be like you. Those are the people that need the help.)

ok have fun guys enjoy the rest of the Claeyt vs Salemthegamedotcom discussion
