Yes, i am here complaining because i bought a key off someone for $20. I thought it would be worth it, but really i got ripped off. Salem could be so much more than it is.

Edit - i read the sticky and think i might give it another try, if gluttony makes such a stark difference my mine gripe with the game is gone. I am in raonake if anyone wants to accept me into their village (pm me). LOL.

if you are on Roanoke, the brand new server, I doubt you've joined a fully established working town. even the players already in there and experienced will still be laying foundations and starting the purity field system up and trying to find the better mines. No way there's any super complete places yet (Roanoke can prove me wrong with screenshots!)
can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out. - Battlebug (Sw:tor forums pre-wipe)

Ohh crap! My wallet just got so thin!

On a serious note - it doesn't take me any longer to study at this point than ~30 seconds and it revolves mainly around getting a good enough inspirational.

I might want to add that buying beta keys for real world cash isn't allowed on the forums for a reason. This is a beta, the game is definitely incomplete and you paid money to *someone else* other than the devs who are working hard to make this game. All that person did was pop an email into a free key giveaway, of which there have been many and will be more.

I'm honestly kind of ashamed of you.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

regardless of what you're black bile is or how long study is taking, you should never be idle. There's plenty to do. The idea is to be studying while you work, not work, sit and study for 10 minutes, work, sit and study. If that's what you're doing, try... multi tasking.

Salem is not perfect, there aspects of it I take issue with, but for study time to be the highlight of your objection seems really strange. Nothing wrong with study time imo.

dont bother further, OP has already realized his mistakes and started playing again, according to himself as he was talking in IRC last night. i believe he only needed some company while he plays.

I wont create another topic, but have again decided to post as this is beta and would like to give my opinion to anyone working on this game. First of all, my problem 'finding people to play with', i thought it was unacceptable that something like global chat had not been implemented. Yes, i paid money for a beta key, access to the game was severely restricted and i wanted to try it, without having to check for keys. Went on to spend money in the store though, so I have supported this game. Occasionally paying money for a game is not too bad, but when a game is centered on pay to play short cuts or monetary requirements (buying nails) there is a problem. It seemed interesting at first, especially unlocking new skills, buildings, crafting etc, as you go along, but this game is very tedious. Everything takes an excessive amount of time, even preparing an in game product like hides, a timer begins for production in real time, and after several hours (approximately 8) you have a hide. This is far too long, as it requires players to attend this game regularly to achieve anything. I was hoping to make the game playable by taking some of the suggestions people had made on board, raising black bile to 20, keeping it up while learning, also learnt literacy, formal education, and aristotelian logic. It was still too long, even 30 secs, i mean this is real time, if we have the bile and proficiencies, why wait for it to SLOWLY drain ? Next.

Played in a village of 5 people, who could black smith and farm, but unfortunately, the inspirations become increasingly complex and gathering/preparing them meant it wasnt very economical for them to help me in this way. A community of skilled workers therefore has no effect on the progress of team mates, and as most people went into the wilderness to hermit, there is not much to be said for the multiplayer aspect of this game. All i can say really is this game does not respect your time and it is a shame. It is an interesting premise. I understand the developers have limited manpower, but to stretch gameplay in this way is unnacceptable. In all likelihood, i will not play this game again. Many people will not be happy i criticized their game, but this is beta run after all.

You can make all the silver in the world without using a credit card. The cash shop is there merely for convenience.

As for the 'village of 5 people' you joined, hmm, they must have all have been noobs like yourself or just plain selfish :/

Yeah, this is a very serious problem since my mind can only handle doing one thing at a time.

OP doesn't seem to have discovered purity lockets yet.
