you need a massive claim and multiple layers of braziers and walls but yeah they are fine really. There are just so many people with terrible set ups

imho, "perfect" defenses should not happen in this game because that will make politics meaningless.

Of course you can, but you can't finish it before other factions will finish their town in light.

You need first to make camp or town in light then level up your char and start town in deep darkness,
but that means it will take almost twice longer to secure two towns than in light.
After you finish terraforming and building you go for murder alts, but most of factions will have twice more murder alts and braziers in their "in light" bases.
It is like a race, just like in HnH, but here we have choice :)
You and staxjax slept for too long and now you are crying that others got their town in darkness at size of your gallow hills and you can only pray for balance.

You can make hard to destroy HV, but if some large faction will decide to loot you farmers they are defenceless.

But you can destroy whole town in darkness if you got enough people on your side and time.
You can make few days time raids, defenders still need to work and sleep on same hours, well maybe they will play +1-2h per day more if they are during siege.

One idea is no crime debuff in the darkness. Its going to change. Its been confirmed by jorb
