The new systems in place make it easy to level up a toon. It does help you are part of a town where others can help you rebuild but you can accomplish this alone also. I guess the most important thing I can tell you is never give up. This is a great game with many challenges. You just need to learn from your mistakes.

Good luck to you!

Well said. Losing is a HUGE part of the game. Everyone has lost a town or a big character. After you pop your cherry you stop worrying and just have fun.

First time I lost my toon, I didn't know what the hell I was gonna do, or even if I wanted to. It was my first toon, I had spent a lot of time on it. It was my first town, and I really was attached to it and all the people that were part of it. It all got destroyed in an afternoon. Lost my char, my town, my friends, and kind of my will of playing the game.

Well turns out it was all 100% false.
My char was **** as hell, one or so month of work on it was ****, I had not a damn clue of what the game was, and I got it all back in less than one week.
The town was nowhere near to be what a town should be in my eyes, should it be its design, its recruiting policies, its way of running, or whatever, and I promised myself to build a better town myself later on.
We friends stood quite strongly attached to each other despite the loss of our town, at least for a good while, and I made new friends thanks to them that felt like it would be nice to have me among them (thanks Thor :*).

So after like... I don't know, some days thinking if the game was worth my time and if I should keep playing it, it turned out that yes, and more than the game, all the people that welcomed me. Walked my ass to Thor's town in Jamestown's darkness, and spent my time playing with him and talking with the new friends I had made thanks to the event. Learnt the game a bit better, made new mistakes, and eventually lost the new char and town due to well... server reset.

If it can comfort you, Darwoth was already the cause of all of this. Although I've always been gratefull for this and will probably never reproach him what he did back then.
...should probably add a part about how the Snake King learnt his villagers to stand with each other to my book hmm...
Trust your enemies more than your friends. Your enemies will never betray you.
