Indeed. I still like your idea of mass-sifting with multiple people in a coordinated effort though. And there are still those who prefer to click over macro. So I see no reason to make any drastic changes, I just find it interesting is all.

They are lying. They said they like shifting but they are actually using good macros that can be detected.
They programmed it into their brain.

It's awful. Even I had to whip out macro. Such a waste of time and yet so necessary. Please make a sluice box like a stamp mill.

I see no reason why we can't have both. After all, we have the option to manually chip stone or use a stamp mill to break up our boulders

No we just need an automated system like a trommel of some kind.

Would require some link to water / water-well and a person to operate it like a oil press, why a 2nd or 3rd person fills it with rubble boulders.

Development time. I guess sifting is just an optional "nice thing" mechanic. It's not necessary for anything (except feasting set *cough*). Lack of gold bars and gems doesn't block your progress, no other industries rely on that. Unless you are making top gear and need those gold bars. But one always has to suffer to get top gear.
