It doesn't sound right, but after Binks said "I've been fishing in the ocean" all loftars answers started getting kind of evasive. "should" "I think" "they seem to be". so right now I'm doing 5 lures per trip, with my trips going back and forth between the ocean and a salt water node. I'm assuming since they are rare "space-wise" that means a node of some sort, so if I hit the right node, it should "should" come up the same as getting a coffin plank out of a log..if it does follow the rock paper scissors pattern though and has to be played differently, then that's just mean lol. That would mean hitting the right node, spending multiple lures trying, and having to sacrifice what crappy fish you would normally get.

There is however 1 variable I haven't messed with yet, is their any difference to a shark bait lure made from different types of steaks? Up until now I have exclusively used bear.

Nodes always contain multiple fish types, perhaps as a result of several nodes overlapping.

The lure will have no unique attributes unless the tooltip states that it has been made from X type of meat.

Shouldn't you be using the seaweed wobbler?

Besides just looking at the code, I hope they actually tested this.

You didn't look at the code

nope,

One of the minor ways this game is broken is how fast poles and lures decay while fishing. It's bizarre that it takes that must iron just to fish.

supposedly, frontier and wilderness slows it down
I have that to a pretty high level (~200) though, and I still use up lures much faster than I'd like.
(tbh, last time I tested it I was probably like 100-150 or something).

Personally I hope that the fishing nets shown in previous screenshots point towards a fishing overhaul.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

An old candy gang member was a great fisher, he had about 5 FisherMaster 1600's and used about 1 Razzle Dazzle lure per Hellish Hallibut. Quite normal a Jellyfish would take more resources
