Well i still have not purchased FO4, reading review after review, rant after rant, i feel somewhat unsure if i should purchase it unless it is on a big sale of some sorts.

Everything im reading claims FO4 has had all of its RPG elements taken out, you are hand fed endgame armor and weapons at the start of the game as well as having god-like companions from the start. A very small map you can hardly interact with and more.

Has anyone here purchased it ? Does bethesda deserve my money for this game? Have they killed the Fallout experience ?

Or maybe your Salem experience is killing the other easy games ¦]

Im still downloading it (maybe legally who knows?). I'll tell you what's up after a couple dozen hours in the game.

Can't say I have ever played any other fallout game, watched my fella play but thats about it. That said I'm really enjoying the game (though I suck at shooters) Loving the settlement building which I feel has just the right amount of customization yet very little 'babysitting' of the settlers.
Yes you get the power armor at the start but it runs out of juice quickly and you have to collect more power cells to keep using it. Also while you might get 'good' gear it is really just the bare bones - the meat is customizing the armor and weapons.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I agree that companions are silly in that they never die and also pull aggro while you get to kill stuff. (I'm actually running solo with Lone Wanderer perk) its more enjoyable that way anyway.

I haven't gotten the game yet, waiting for Christmas, but considering Bethesda's track record, I have a hard time believing they screwed it up.

It's definitely different from the previous Fallouts; minor improvements and shortcomings here and there, but the core aspects are still the same. Explore, kill ****, get loot, get perks, kill **** more efficiently.
