I have, by chance, lived in mostly white areas for much of my life. There was no black community/culture in the town I spent my teenage years in, but there were a few black families in the area and I knew some of the kids, school and church and such, and they were quite decent, nice people. I tried to get one boy to ask me on a date because I thought he was cute but he was either oblivious or not interested, I'm not sure.

I later became rather more well-traveled and a few times ended up in the wrong parts of places like Houston and Chicago and New York and I have to say... racism most certainly goes both ways. Does that make a large percentage of black people just bad? There was the time in Houston when I took the wrong exit and suddenly I was in a close, run-down neighborhood, with very narrow streets and this group of people standing on the curb just staring at me as I went by with this unreasonable hostility. The kids in one of the yards looked like they'd seen an alien. The old couple in the porch swing looked mortally offended by my presence. They all knew nothing about me but that I was white and they were black and they hated me for it. And it seems to be an attitude that is encouraged by the black community/culture in general, that all white people are an enemy. Terrifying. But I refuse to accept that they were bad people as you suggest.

I honestly don't think Darwoth can be defined as 'racist' since he seems to be against, not black people in general, but certain subsets of the culture. I have to say I'm against those subsets too and they need to be diffused or changed somehow if we're to really get anywhere. You rant about racism like it's okay to not feel safe driving through a black neighborhood and we need to tolerate it and pretend that being hated is something we deserve because it's somehow racist to suggest otherwise. I think people who think like you are more a part of the problem than any solution.

Darwoth can absolutely be defined as a racist. It's just plain silly to say he's not. He just called an entire race of people '**** Stains' 2 pages back based on nothing else but that they're Black.

As for your story. You seem to have a lot of fear and suspicion in general if you think that you just driving through a neighborhood were hated for it. Black culture is broken. 200 years of slavery and 100 years of violent Apartheid has broken it. This is the fear, suspicion and hatred that you maybe saw in their faces. I don't know. As for me, I've walked through Cabini Green, the Addams Homes and seen the Taylor Homes at their worst back in the 90's when I was a working with stuff like that. There was gunfire. I did some of my Master's Degree working in the poorest part of Milwaukee and last year I went and spotted rehabs in Detroit for a month for a non-profit, so I've seen the worst ghetto's in the Midwest reeaaal close up.

Of course there's problems with inner-city Black culture but it's been shrinking for 20 years. They're shooting each other. They're poor. Their family structure's broken. 200 years of slavery and 100 years of violent Apartheid. Remember those numbers because that's why their culture is what it is. Of course, it's getting better. Crime is down. Teenage pregnancy in all races is waaaay down (it's down 60% in Black teenagers and 50% in Hispanic teenagers since '91)

We now have a Black president and more importantly a Black first lady whose family history shows us exactly why we can't use broad racist descriptions like Darwoth does to define 'Black Culture', Society and Cities in general. Her family story is as relevent to the story of Black History as Cabini Green or the poor areas of Chicago. There is no monolithic Black Culture anymore. It's split into areas and stories that include the suburbs and other areas of the country besides where you described. 'Black Culture' is just as much about the rich suburbs of Atlanta as it is about the miraculous turn around of D.C. as it is about the changes in Brooklyn and Harlem. These are all Black areas that you'd probably feel more comfortable in. The point is that you can no longer associate 'Black Culture' with poverty, especially since Obama. The only thing maintaining your fear and their seeming hatred is racism coming out of assholes like Darwoth and Trump. 'Black Culture' isn't getting worse or more violent in general and it still has tons of problems but it's better than it was.

True, its bigotry, but everyone labels everything racism (a form of bigotry). Racism pertains only to race, but that doesn't stop everyone from dropping the term. In reality its profiling or stereotyping, which in some cases is a very good thing. Shady character walks into the store behind you looking over his shoulder constantly while protecting a bulge inside of his coat... thats stereotyping, but its also a hint to get the ***** out of there. Everything has its place in life.

Yes, obviously, but Apartheid is South African. You can say 'separatism', you don't have to try to be fancy and obscure.
