How do you feel about the new map expansion?

The map was already too big before today's addition.

So if your vault is so impenetrable, how the hell does a larger map help you more?

It hurts him. That's why he cried a river. He doesn't want to travel more than one hour to raid.

He can't raid anyway. Nobody can. The scraps that are available aren't worth the time.

Personally I'm bracing for some terrifying new twist to raid mechanics in an upcoming patch.

I was specifically referring to the "sheep" category earlier.

This seems like it will hurt all but the most hardcore players. Will the casual to semi-dedicated player track someone for 15 hours? No. Will the people that are hardcore? Yes.

Darwoth is trying to make the point that a larger map is okay for hardcore raiders because they have the manpower and drive to explore it, look for targets, track scents, etc. in order to find places to raid and people to kill. But such a large map is not so good for small time raiders because the population is spread more thinly and if you want to steal others' hard work in a more casual way, you just can't.

And isn't that what the wipe was supposed to be about? At least in part, it was supposed to be a fresh start on even footing so those who want to play Salem to its fullest as a crafting and raiding game would have a chance to.

However, braziers are so overpowered right now that getting through them will be possible only for the very highest level players, and even finding targets is becoming difficult. Big raiders will muddle through, but it's not looking good for the small time raider and that's a very bad thing.

The first Providence patch buffed spy warfare and nerfed brute-force warfare. Working as intended.
