
On a serious note. Most people equate MMO with characters that won't be deleted but simply "nerfed". It is the act of a full reset that I feel breaks it free from the urge to call it an MMO.
And I agree. I HIGHLY doubt this next server will make it even 6 months. The Developers have a HUGE opportunity to test questionable mechanics on the EXISTING server that will be shut down soon. Instead of doing so (and mitigating the need for future wipes) they are doing nothing to those servers. As such, they will be less-educated and less prepared to implement systems ripe with the opportunity to ***** up like alchemy. Lets be honest, if they couldn't get boiling mushrooms down, how can we expect something like Alchemy not to come with some ability to create "legacy" and "Unbalanced" situations that require yet another reset.
I can promise you this. UNDER THE CURRENT SYSTEM I CAN TAKE SEVERAL GOODS NOT INTENDED TO HAVE PURITY to Extreme levels of Purity and multipliers. On the new world I WILL HAVE LEGACY ITEMS again. Nobody else will as nobody outside of a few Tribe know how to do it. When I do this, there will be the choice of fixing the legacy items and re balancing the server (the hard choice) or just wiping everybodies **** and starting over (the easy choice).
