As much as I love what the chief does, I don't see why anyone would want to start a character on a server where there is a thread that's hundreds of pages long full of pictures of people who have been killed for not giving the chief silver. Some of them may have committed genuine in game crimes, but as it says in the treaty not paying the treaty is punishable by death so its clear most of them did nothing other than play the game but because they chose not to pay some random person silver they lost there character.
I love this game and love that things like what i have just said can happen. But you can't seriously expect anyone to come play on Plymouth when in order to stand a chance of not dying within the first 2 weeks you have to give a real person silver, and in order to get enough to pay him and to pay for the general things you need to play the game you either: undertake a massive grind, pay real world money or HAVE (an that's the key word here) to spend 15 minutes out of your own life (that as far as anyone is aware of you only get one of) everyday just to get some silver so some real life person won't kill your character and prevent you from continuing to progress. Why would anyone want that? Chief says jump and you say how high?
Like I said I have no problem with this happening and think it is the thing that proves how amazing of a game Salem is, but what I don't get is how anyone can advertise this like it is somehow meant to be enticing. If someone was stood outside a shop trying to draw in business, and there angle was that if you buy something from us it will cost you twice as much as it should and you have to come back and do 15 minutes of work for us everyday for free, would you go in and buy something from them? This is what playing on Plymouth is like and honestly you have to be some sort of real life push over to spend even one second of you actual life doing something just so another real life person won't kill a character you have in a game. Even if you say you were playing anyway and were collect the things to make silver as well, when you have to give some of that silver to someone else your not just giving them some pixels on a screen your also giving up some of the time in your life just because someone has demanded that you do. Which I personally find baffling that anyone would even do let alone willfully enter into.
