sure, it can be. however all one has to do is look at the population drop or read these message boards to arrive at the conclusion that the vast majority of people to try this game were indeed 100% not suited for it. and that is because it was marketed to the wrong people. if the game had been populated from the start with folks looking to cut the other guys face off instead of people that want to spend 2 months grinding **** so they can make better popcorn than the other guy or get the biggest kin list we would still have several hundred per server.

I find it difficult to believe that spreading awareness of this game could be considered a "nail in the coffin". Any publicity...

This

I don't know what you guys are looking for. There aren't going to be any huge updates anymore, not even the Gluttony update. There are only 2 dev's and no money being put into the game and if we're lucky we'll get regular little updates and fixes, maybe every month like we've been getting. I'm okay with that. If we all help them advertise a little maybe we'll get some people interested in it, no matter their carebear, pvp or crafting MMo opinions.

if you didnt get it, anyone is of course free to write about the game to recommend it, but trying to encourage publicity with false info wouldnt do any good and making a thread to ask the community to "like it" is retarded.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about attention for.

As someone who's played this game for a year now I remember when we had hundreds of people on it at the same time with max amounts in the 250 range. Roanoke was packed with traders and people and sometimes you'd have to wait in line to use the Windmills and barrels occasionally. I just want to get it back to that and I'll take any advertising or new people I can. There's no more big grand release coming. It's 2 guys by themselves for development. I realize that the hummus nerf and poor updates this last spring cost them a lot of players but we still have a good stable core population and new people joining daily.

My only goals are to get the word out about the game on sites like this and help any new players with questions about the massive learning curve for this game. If you want to troll the thread fine, but realize that this game is a lot more fun with hundreds of players and bases out there in the woods than it is now with players few and far between. I don't care what kind of players you're looking for. This game is very specific as to who can succeed at it according to you, but I remember great carebear players like Sunari, Martinuzz and Sharia who never committed a crime but ruled their little patch of ground. Sharia made so much damn money that her stall down by the beach of Roanoke is still standing from when they raised the rates on stalls last February. Her unpriced pumpkins are still standing there 8 months after she left for a different game. There are plenty of other non-PvP players that are doing just fine in this game.

The game is lucky to break the 50-70 player range across 3 servers. How does that make a game population good? I see almost zero increase of new people. Inviting more people now hurts the game more then it helps

Granted, false information will most likely do more harm than good. Still, making more people aware of the game couldn't hurt in itself. Worst case scenario, they try it out and don't like it. It's open beta, after all.

if there aren't going to be any new major updates only small ones and there isn't going to be some grand release of the game, then why wouldn't we want ever damn player we could get. The only way this game gets back to major updates and game company releases are with showing a big player population on an indi company game.
