If you can see where they are entering (they are following a chemical trail) you are in luck. I usually scrub the area with dish soap-*poof* no trail. Of course this assumes you've gotten rid of the food source.

Also if your pet's food is what is attracting them, snag a cake/baking pan and fill it about 1/4 " deep with water. Place food bowl sitting/resting inside the pan. This keeps the ants from the pet food.

I can see my cat dumping the food and himself everytime.

My dog would eat his food or throw the bowl to drink/flip the water. Works good if ur dog isn't a assbole
