I remember when APXEOLOG claimed to have finished H&H. This thread reminds me of that. :D

There's always things to do and other ways to play, the question is: are you having any fun? If you are, keep playing, you're doing something right.

The only thing "wrong" i can see is that they totally destroys the claims after killing whoever and as there is no way to defend themselves as its often solo ppl affected it often results in changing server rather then rebuilding and making plymoth less populated.
if they only killed the chars, stole some stuff i think more would return, rebuild their old claims even if that might be a stupid idea as the raiders know where, who's claim and what they expect to find in it.
my personal opinion is that what MM does is part of the game, for example getting killed/raided and everyone will face it sooner or later in one way or another and shall be calculated while both investing time/building/doing anything.
be prepared to loose everything or have the mindset that its already gone as soon as u build or make anything and u will not be dissapointed when it happens and it will be easier to rebuild.
Some things like saving seeds, silver, high insperationals or whatever on an alt char may speed the rebuild.
another thing is lets say u build 1 or 2 walls in a few hours,
is it worth investing more time in walls for example?
at the current game if someone can butter through 2-3 walls, anymore walls will just delay rather then stop anyone and may in one meaning be waste of time.
thats just my thoughts

Time to sum up the answers to the OP.

TotalyMoo wrote:The obvious problem I can see is that it's a forced rule with no support from the other factions. Paying the tribe generally seems to be considered the lesser of evils. For feudalism to work you need some kind of common interest to protect as in times of war you need the help of your people - even if they dislike you. And to be blunt I don't think the tribe would enough support from outsiders if they started crumbling...

And the answers to other questions can be read between the lines, but to make 'em less obscure:
Mereni wrote:Why is it being called 'against' the intent of the game? What, exactly, is the intent of the game? Is it meant to be an anarchic murder fest?

The intent of the game would be, I presume, to offer entertainment and new experiences to those who play. Is MM Tribe against that? I don't think so, in fact I'd say it's quite the contrary. But neither would the utter hatred for the Tribe or its ultimate destruction be against the intent of the game.
This game is meant to be what the community makes of it, whether it be 'anarchic murder fest' or 'feudal dictatorship' or 'constitutional peasantry'.

The way I see it:
There is a vast number of players that wish to play Farmville with the sheep mindset (since sheep haven't been added yet, someone has to do that as well, I guess). "You pay MM - you safe and farm no fire", or so they say.
There are also new players that tend to be quite easily drawn into tribe with promises of tutoring and quicker progress, that then go through the educational program that also includes the processes of increasing sensitivity about Natives and tanning leather with your own resources (a.k.a. brainwashing).
Then there's the immortal Chief PeePooKaKa with his stormtroopers, and I must say in this occasion - I miss you, these forums are not the same without you.
And then, there are his devoted followers that are quite fanatic about their mission to spread their religion and bring the word of their Messiah and his wondrous deeds.
Prima Epistola ad Plymuthinos, from The Holy Scrolls of BullShift wrote:{21}And thus spoketh Chief: "No worm shall be harmeth, for as I long as I draweth my breath, punishment comeths upon those who dareth defy Me",
{22}And no worms were harmeth that day, and all folk rejoiced and clapped their hands for it has been foretold by their ancestors that day shall cometh,
{23}When all the sinners shall burneth with their houses and hedges in eternal brazier hell. Only those pure of heart and stripped of free thought,
{24}They shall be gifted upon with the right to cultivate and nurture the Nature, with milk and honey flowing through their lands,
{25}With silver overflowing their purses... And forever shall they be protected from devils and fiends that speak of these horrible 'freewill' misdeeds.

And many other kinds of people that play this game.
And there is a place for all those people in this game and they all have their way of playing and their vision what this game should be about. And as long as it stays that way this will be a fun place to come. Its all about communication and interaction between players, and refusing to communicate is a sort of communication too. I think that's what makes this game tick.
Tribes will come and pass, characters will develop and die, their lands strive and perish in destructive rampages... but what experience you draw from that is what is important. That and how you roleplay it on the forums to make it look more fun.
To Limes; Dat Rhimes (TL;DR)
I used to be a pilgrim like you. Then I took an Indian arrow in the head...
