nothing like necro threading,
however my opinion has not changed. still against it, the servers are barely using 10% of their maximum.

Paradox is charging them for server?

#1: Create new server to inject new life into the game (once updates are finished and a commitment to development schedule is made).
#2: Promise to open up server transfers in (4) months from creation of new server
This will give people the opportunity to build without having to worry about pre-existing factions. This will give pre-existing factions the motivation to "stick with it" knowing that they will still have access to a new player base in four months and, therefore, do not have to abandon their homes and/or feel forced to play the new server.
As for the existing (3) servers and their load. It wouldn't be that hard to "hand stitch" tiles to the southern end of Plymouth that would match the northern border of Roanoke. Merge the maps together, port all the characters/map data onto one server which would now handle double the load (still insignificant). Implement boats with sails that travel 200% speed of Canoes, Implement horses @ approx 50% speed increase from what we saw in the live-stream. Bigger map, more people, more accessible due to technology improvements for speed. The same can be done with Jamestown using the Northern border of Jamestown and the southern border of Roanoke.
Each time there is a need for a "new" server and/or populations dwindle they could just keep "Stitching" the coast together and merging the smaller player-bases together.
I believe that this would satisfy both the die-hards and the player base that enjoys re-rolling.
