Bearing in mind that he "just" started tinkering with the cel shading yesterday while the Lead Artist was sleeping....It will presumably get a lot better.

Combat seems a bit chaotic. Is it at all controllable?

From what I looked up you set your stance and tactics b4 the fight. In the vid there are a couple button showing but no idea on what they do.

*****, evertime I see the combat it just turns me off of the game. Yeh, stand there with your thumb up your ass and hope your setup is better than the other guy's. I'm sad to see that fighting monsters is exactly the same.

I don't get the problem. #1, you are just setting up your battles "before" the fight. Like deckbuilding in MTG,

#2 You can script 4 (so far) Different "strategies" and switch between them during the fight. Would you rather just stand there mashing buttons?

#3 Combat won't be even CLOSE to the only way you can kill people in game, it's just one route. Poisoning someone doesn't require combat. Trapping them? Natch....

Last but not least, Josh has assured us that combat is in no way in it's final form and will evolve throughout beta to it's final form. One of the "features" of the game is that starting with beta, the Community will throw out ideas and the ones with the most votes will be implamented so if everyone dislikes the combat, we can vote to try a new form or totally revamp it....

Who doesn't like 30 second fighting games...I can very easily see them incorporating a Street Fighter mode into that layout. If you are going to have figthing in a game, it should be fun. Especially if you have to kill monsters and ****. Fully automated fighting, no thanks.
