Purity items and water are more expensive and of lower purity on the market because there has not been as much time spent looking for them as there has been on Roanoke and those that have found them tend not to share openly. This means that if you find them you can sell them for a high price.
Darwoth can be mostly avoided by putting up a good defense, which you should have anyway, and leaving him alone. Darwoth is also on Roanoke.
Roanoke does have a higher average player 'level' but its political situation is completely different so player 'level' does not mean quite the same thing on Roanoke as it does on Jamestown, decision you need to make is do you like the politics there better than the politics on Jamestown.

Can one move from one server to another. I have a main character on Plymonth, which I would want to transfer to another server.

Not yet, although it's a planned feature for a future update. There is no ETA.

If you are interested in changing servers there are a few people around willing to help you re-establish yourself on a different server.

It's best to just start a new character. Server transfers are a looong way off
