Popham is a perfect example of a hard failure, more than enough reason to never try any sort of expedition ever again.

Finishing the ark is not ending Popham in any way.

Back in the days I was actually fairly sure that Darwoth was far from reaching the required skills nessesary to end the server due to the fact that tier 2 witchcraft was only possible days before those claims. Grinding that much in advance without the exact knowledge seems very hard to believe.

So no-1 might actually be capable of ending it yet, pushing it seems also weird when people are actually still working on it.

Nevertheless, if someone undergoes all that effort, he most certainly has all rights to do whatever the ***** he wants with that server and all of its prizes.

Seems to me like the formula needs to be changed up, not "never try any sort of expedition ever again". The expedition had its problems, but I'd rather see things move forward rather than backwards.

salem tries too hard to "create" difficulty and hardship, but the unintended consequence is the game is kinda stiff at the moment... the grind is too high for even the smallest achievements... if you love the game visuals and can immerse yourself in the art style, then at least you have an incentive to play around... but if you lose that all is left is grind grind grind... then you have to listen stuff like "end the ark yourself", "defeat darwoth yourself", etc

its easy to lose perspective if you don't have anything to compare with, so if you're unhappy try other games like Haven or the other survivals for purchase on Steam... life is too short to spend unhappy and complaining, move on, try new things, etc

No, its rather time to face reality and solve the issues which led to the expeditions in the first case.

Changing the formula won't do the trick I am afraid, they have kept tweaking the Popham mechanics, rewards and rules in its progress. You cannot change the rules of a game of chess, while it is already going on. Terms in advance have been agreed upon. Decreasing the difficulty for expeditions even more so won't matter a lot and would make the whole aspect of raiding even more pointless.

Perhaps it could become more of a temporary thing, like a monthly/weekly thing and more like a mini-game. The problem I have with it is that they have always used it as a justification for the course of which Salem has been heading since the take-over.

i will end the server when my character is finished reaching 5k stats (approx 75% there) or until i am tired of the server, you want to end it sooner feel free to kill yourself so i can eat your character.

The ark is sitting at around 11%. Why built it for a lazy player base? I'd rather have the memory of animals than to give all of you the chance to pop in the last minute and claim some and let someone else do the work.

Those waiting for him to do it faster can do their part and feed him so he can end it already and get those animals back to providence, raid changes and a new expedition.

yep. in the meantime myself, tulgarath and the handful of others still on popham are enjoying our personal server. the rest of you have had ample opportunity to secure your animals on providence as per the livestock thread so if you end up without it is entirely your own fault.

i hope it takes a couple years, honestly... there's too much of whipping the playerbase wounds then spreading salt on them... its amazing how much people get attached to suffering when there's infinity options at hand

Salem playerbase is mostly masochist and depressed fellows so this is an expected behaviour. I cannot see a new expedition working, the only reason for expeditions to exist is because the Devs love the little carebears ****** that are too scared to experience the pvp side of the game so they created a "harcorepvp" server to move the griefer players there and make Providence even more pve/farmville.
