The core idea is that service providers can't charge content providers more or throttle bandwidth. If you're curious, look up the deals Comcast has been doing with services like Netflix.

The fact they declared it a utility is a bit of a surprise, though, but not unexpected, and that ***** about throttling everyone to dial-up speeds is just retarded blathering. As long as people like me want more and more speed to stream movies and music, companies are going to be more than willing to upgrade speeds. (My current 6 MBps is good enough for HD streams most of the time, but will it handle the new 4k format?)

First. I'm pretty sure the Salem servers were moved to the U.S.

Second. Net neutrality has nothing to do with bandwidth. Bandwidth is being held back because the Large Cable companies are lobbying and suing to keep a monopoly on areas they control. Wherever Google, or Local/City 1 gig connections have been set up, the local Cable company has fought it.

Net Neutrality is about those Cable/Internet Providers controlling how the internet works for users. They wanted to be able to charge certain large sites and content providers for faster access and let other sites who are too small or just starting up stay slow. This would hamper innovation and allow the Cable companies to maintain a monopoly over what and how we interact with the internet.

It's on my mind; but the time investment was only moderately intensive... now... it's hard-core. I barely had time before... now?.. ugh... maybe if I win the lottery somewhere... and had 40-60 hours to spend trying to avoid perma-death.

I am tempted to log in to some alts that weren't killed in my purge to see if anything remains... but as low level they wouldn't last long regardless in single digit darkness. Not a big itch, but there.

Game has changed so much... kudo for Devs; but not a big hit for older players used to older rules.

If you have to reply to several people, use the copy/paste function for the quotes and edit your last post. Or wait for someone to reply. Keep this up and I"ll just start deleting.
