Hmm this explains a lot. I thought I had recently taken my love of Salem to a new level.

Some models are temporary. That flame is not. The flame dances around I like that model well enough. I also find it impossible to take seriously the guy who goes out of his way to destroy the graphics of this game with tile mods and jacked up ugly trees, and ugly green lines shooting all over his screen when people move around.

Why dont you go hunting or pvping a bit, then you'll understand how important those "ugly" green lines are.

Hunted and PVP'd for years (and still do) and never turned that feature on or needed it.

I understand how it could help those too unskilled and untalented to do it without them. Training wheels have a purpose too, just hard to take somebody serious who wants to race you while still using them.

You do realise that if something helps you do something else, it doesnt mean that you are untalented just because you are helping yourself with that something.
For example, why are you wearing clothes when you can just stand next to the heating all day? Only the unskilled and untalented actually wear clothes because it helps them stay warm right?

Sure. Sounds like we both agree you need the crutch. Nothing wrong with that. I just don't take any complaints about graphics when the person making uses crutches that undermine them.

That has never been for my own usage, I just try to help people with their memory leak, obviously the less memory usage -> the less leak. No idea whether this leak also counts for the original client, but very few people use that IMO.

I am however very serious when I see many new structures implemented with a terrible look, in the end it is quite irrelevant indeed. Graphics never has been a big issue in Salem, we all do understand that and when most of those are still temporary I haven't said anything. When I saw the eternal fire today I had to atleast make a thread to get a clarification.

I am not saying that I could do better, however most of these new models do not quite match with the already existing ones.

A crutch is something that makes people that are unable to do something, able to do it.
I was NOT talking about that, instead i was saying that calling something that makes a game mechanic easier stupid, is just offending to whoever uses it because it gives an advantage over their peers.
No matter how much you argue, gob paths ARE useful and CAN help even the best players out there, so not using it and bragging that you don't is simply stupid, as it places you at a disadvantage, cuz i know how far that bear is gonna run and i know if i can bullrun it before it changes its path, and you don't, i know if that guy is playing with WASD or mouse and you don't.
