They have said providence would never reset.

Only expidition servers will run one at a time. (Only 1 will ever run, unless dev intervention happens as game is basically dead)

They will not open new servers.

IMHO, very bad move in this kind of game, but hey ho, its their game.

no, according to every conversation i have had with him there will be no resets but for the expeditions. if you want a new server either wait until then or go over there and work to end that one, the only reason this expedition got "stale" is because the playerbase is largely passive and because it was the first one, with a slight tweak in victory conditions i am sure they will continue to improve.

if nobody else does before the end of the winter i will head over to popham and kill the server to create a new one.

leelee is mad that he cant compete on either server, so like every other ****** newb he wants a reset to wipe out the efforts of everyone else so he can feel like he doesnt suck for a month again.

resets will not happen because

1> JC himself knows just how much they suck as that was one of his primary complaints as well when he was a player like the rest of us and jorb went back on what he told us and reset the game anyway causing massive loss of the old players that made salem what it was.

2> all of the flavor items that are given out on rare events and become part of the games history would be meaningless (goat masks and wigs during the introduction of witchcraft are but one of many examples of these legacy items)

3> as the server matures the game generates a history, this is something sorely lacking in modern games in general, much less ***** games that reset.

4> the sheer amount of effort in doing things like acquiring lucky skills, chiseling a mine into dreamworld, building thousands of tiles of brick fortifications and so on. again for something to be meaningful it needs to have this level of effort attached to it, wiping it would be the stupidest thing one could do.

+1 To what Darwoth said.
One of the reasons I quit Salem when it was beta was the reset they made and being a Hermit it took me so long to get my town built and when they reseted 2 times I just thought "Hey this is ***** pointless! Why waste time building in this game town or char if it will be wiped in a few months?" So I like that they keep a server with big ass towns, big scary chars and history so people will have something to come back to.
Expedition idea is awesome in my opinion but due to Devs being busy in real life or whatever they couldnt keep check on Popham server. Lets just hope next expedition goes better and those who like to have temporary servers will enjoy expeditions.
IM BACK!

Honestly, the map is that big that i don't see a point for a reset. Once you move far from providence, everything is empty and wild, ready to be conquest.

How is that relevant tho, do you claim that we cannot play Salem Intergalactic with aliens and from other planets ?
